Watercolour and Sumi-e Paintings

This is an ongoing series of small works on paper dipicting nature imagery, especially birds. As a birdwatcher, I take a lot of bird photographs, some of which make their way into paint. I have also studied Sumi-e, a form of painting originating in Japan. The meditative process of Sumi-e resonates with my history of Buddhist practice.
